Broad books on Indian economics

My suggestions for the three good broad books on Indian economics:

  1. India: The Emerging Giant by Arvind Panagariya, Oxford, 2008.
  2. The Oxford Companion to Economics in India, edited by Kaushik Basu, Oxford, 2007.
  3. Documenting reforms: Case studies from India, edited by S. Narayan, Macmillan and Observer Research Foundation, 2006.

See my India bookshelf.

  1. Thanks a lot Mr. Ajay!!

I would also like to request you to kindly give us detail about any good book on "Stock Exchange, its working and its terminology"

Everyday I am coming across the new words like- Red herring prospectus, Green Shoe Option, Rally, Circuit, Short selling, insider's issue etc.

I am sad that available text books of UG and PG level do not throw any light on it.

It is, therefore, again requested to you to kindly provide a list of some useful books on "STOCK MARKET" (kindly do not understand it a request from probable investor; it is a request from genuine reader who wants to extend his knowledge on the subject matter.)
