Researchers for project on 'Health Policy in India'
Location: New Delhi, India
The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is looking to hire researchers in the health field on a full-time basis for the following areas:
- Policy researcher
- Economics researcher
- Research programmer
- Fair Play in Indian Health Insurance
- Analysing the National Medical Commission Bill: Composition,
- Cost of compliance for clinical establishments
- Sustainable strategy to eliminate vector-borne diseases
- The Diwali effect in Delhi air quality
- The Impact of Recent Developments in Inter-Governmental Fiscal Relations on Public Spending in India
Essential requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following background:
- Policy researcher, who is a law graduate, or a postgraduate in health policy, public policy, public administration or development studies;
- Economics researcher, who is a post-graduate in economics or health economics; and
- Research programmer, who is a graduate or post-graduate in B-Tech or computer science (with experience in open source technologies)
The candidates should demonstrate the ability for analytical thinking, strong qualitative and quantitative skills, and excellent writing skills. Two years of work experience is desirable.
The office functions on free and open source softwares like Linux, LaTeX, R. While previous experience in these softwares is not essential, the person will be required to learn and use them for their work. He/she must be willing to adapt to technology, work long hours, and deliver quality products within defined timelines.
Job description
The researchers will work together to build expertise in the domain of health policy. The team will have to perform the following tasks:
- Support research in law, economics and public policy.
- Work with government institutions, including government departments, regulators, etc.
- Carry out field surveys.
- Manage and analyse large datasets related to health.
- Build devices for measurement of weather, air quality, mosquitoes, etc.
- Write articles, blogs and research papers.
Remuneration offered
