Lockhart's speech is probably one of the many speeches Fed chairs will give over the coming weeks to reiterate need for Fed independence. This is because of the Fed audit bill that Barney Frank and Ron Paul are pushing through. Fed approval ratings were as low as 30% as soon as July (lower than the tax dept - IRS).
